Oporto Areas

The Historic Centre of Oporto offers visitors a 'card postal view' of true beauty that's unique in the world, but the city is more than its old hull and the famous wine cellars of Oporto. Downtown, there is a pulsating Oporto, with cosmopolitan shops, traditional businesses and a nightlife that attracts thousands, especially on weekends. In this area on the border with Boavista - Casa da Música and Serralves - there is a set of streets known as the Quarter of Arts, because of the immense art galleries that are located there. The natural beauty of the city along the waterfront - with emphasis on the areas of Ribeira and Cais de Gaia - extends across the sea to the beautiful City Park. And if Oporto, a cosmopolitan city with an intense cultural life, is not enough, a few hours away there are other destinations that one might like to go and visit, such as the Douro Region or the cities of Braga and Guimarães.
